DESCRIPTION:Plan now to attend the M.A.D. Youth Beach Retreat\nCape Henlopen State Park in Lewes\, Delaware\nFIRST EVENT OF THE SCHOOL YEAR\n(don’t forget the incoming freshmen) …\nWho? – Senior high youth\, classes 2018 (this year’s grads) thru 2022 (incoming freshmen) and their\nadvisors – ratio recommended per church is 1 “mature” advisor/chaperone\, age 22 or older\, per 6 youth.\nCost – $50 if you register by August 15; $55 by Aug 25; $60 by Sept 1. You arrange your own\ntransportation (preferably as a church group). Our money will not be refunded in the event that a hurricane\ncloses down the park (their rules). Our plan\, barring a hurricane\, is to go ahead with the retreat\, rain or\nshine.\nAccommodations – barracks style housing\, with 15 beds per room. Each person should bring their own\nlinens or sleeping bag\, as well as beach “things” (modesty\, please). The facility is within walking distance of\nthe beach on the ocean side\, and the pier on the Bay side. There are many hiking and biking trails within the\npark. A kitchen is provided\, but no cook\, so we will prepare the menu and be our own cooks.\nArrival – Friday evening after 8 pm or Saturday morning by 9 am – the price would remain the same. Please\ntell us in advance if you are not planning on arriving until Saturday morning. Check-out time from the\nhousing area is 11 am on Sunday\, but you are free to stay in the park. Parking in the youth camp area is\nlimited and we are allowed 1 parking pass per 4 people. Advisors\, please indicate on the top of your\nregistration form how many vehicle passes you will need for your group… carpool as much as possible to\nensure we have enough passes.\nProgram – Leadership is still being discussed for this weekend. We’ll have a worship service\, as well as\nvespers/devotion times each day. There will be plenty of free time to enjoy the ocean\, beach\, trails\, and\nother recreation possibilities within the park – without leaving it for the duration of the retreat. DESCRIPTION:8 Days – April 16\, 17\, 18\, 19 and April 23\, 24\, 25\, 26\nTwo Shifts – 6:45am – noon  and 9am – 2:30 \nFor the 41st year\, the Mid-Atlantic and SO PA Districts are co-sponsoring a Meat Canning project which previously has enjoyed a generous response and enthusiastic support. \nThe 2018 Meat Canning goal is to can approximately 50\,000 pounds of chicken in 8 days of processing. \nThe Meat Canning Project is a great way for us to minister to those in need during these difficult economic times. \nAs in the past\, a portion of the meat from this project will be provided to both Districts to be shared with local food banks and meal programs. The Meat Canning Committee has  decided to wait until Spring 2018 to determine who will receive distribution outside the U.S. \nUpdated Volunteer Schedule
